About Seacrest

Seacrest Norwegians Elkhounds, established in 1986, is firmly committed to improving the Norwegian Elkhound breed of dog through careful selection and use of only those elkhounds who exemplify the breed standard in kind and temperament and who, through testing prior to breeding are shown to be genetically clean. Seacrest ascribes to the philosophy of being "Dedicated to Quality within the breed " and is totally committed to the overall welfare of this wonderful breed of dog.

Seacrest is located in the Southern California. Foundation stock for Seacrest can be traced back to quality Norwegian imports. Since then, we have imported as well as outcrossed to other strong breed lines in order to maintain breed quality and integrity.

Seacrest is home to several American Kennel Club Champions of record. These dogs are not only our show champions, but they are first and foremost our loyal household companions as well. In the past we have worked with our dogs in obedience and carting in addition to training for the show ring.

All of our breeding stock is genetically tested for hip dysplasia, eye and kidney disease. We strive to produce strong healthy puppies. All of our puppies receive personalized attention in a warm and loving environment which includes extensive socialization. In order to build a solid foundation for our puppies, future owners are encouraged to visit and interact with our youngsters from an early age. We also recommend enrollment in puppy kindergarten classes for all new owners. This helps to develop good socialization skills and avoid any unwanted problems or behavioral issues.
